Morthal is a small village of 1161 hectares in Taranagar Tehsil in Churu district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Morthal depends on TARANAGAR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Morthal is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tanker. Morthal's pin code is 331029[4], and village code is 00580900. The area of Morthal is segregated as 1074.55 hectares unirrigated, the 32.73 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 53.79 hectare area not available for cultivation.
