Mopa is a small village of 875 hectares in Pernem Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mopa depends on PERNEM, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Mopa is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Mopa's pin code is 403512[5], and village code is 00001400. The area of Mopa is segregated as 11.57 hectares irrigated area, 386.21 hectares unirrigated, the 180.17 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 149.86 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Mopa has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with One recreational center.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Mopa is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 1082 and has total administration over 243 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of PERNEM and North Goa to sell country liquor and make their living.
