Monika Wanat (born 1991 in Warsaw)..[1] – polish scientist, artist, and photographer[1]. PhD in Natural Sciences[2].

Scientific activity

Her scientific career is devoted to the use of quantum crystallography methods in the study of pharmaceutical compounds[3]. She is a co-author of 10 scientific papers in journals such as JACS, IUCrJ, Molecules, Crystal Growth & Design, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, including 7 papers as a first author[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]. She was Principal Investigator of the two grants from the Polish National Science Centre [14][15][16][17]. Her entire scientific achievements were awarded the Scholarship of the Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education for Outstanding Young Scientists[18][19]

Artistic activity

The medium used by Monika Wanat in her artistic projects is photography[20]. Her artworks have been awarded in international competitions - New York Photography Awards (Silver Winner in the People/Culture category)[21][22] and Tokyo International Foto Awards (Honorable Mention in the Fine Art/Portrait category)[23]. She works in the cycles "Psyche"[22] and “Not for us”[20]. In her artworks, she wants to emphasize the psychological layer of internal and external interactions of the photographed people - both human and animals, which she does not differentiate. So far, she has been working in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.[22][24]. Her artworks were presented at the post-competition exhibition at the Ethnographic Museum in Torun, Poland[25] and at the Artshow – the Festival of Fine Arts in Warsaw[26]
