Mohit Tiwari is an Indian-American professor and entrepreneur. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin[1], where he is a member of the Spark Research Lab. He is also the CEO and co-founder of Symmetry Systems Inc,[2] a data security posture management company[3], along with one of his Ph.D students, Casen Hunger.[4]

Education and Early Career

Mohit Tiwari received his Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahiti in 2005[5]. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2010 and 2011 respectively. After completing his Ph.D., Tiwari worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, San Diego before joining the faculty at the University of Texas at Austin in 2013 as an Assistant Professor.[6]
