Mohanlal Panda is a Social entrepreneur and a local evaluation and monitoring consultant, he worked with lead evaluators like Mr. Dieter Wagner, Ms. June Kane, Ms. Sue Nelson in many UNDEF funded project in India and Bhutan along with other projects funded by international agencies with consultants like Ms Catherine Barme and Mr Dieter Wagner. Independently, as a lead, he has also evaluated projects funded by United Nations Democracy Fund, UNWOMEN and other International Agencies.[1][2][3][4] His works recognized by Atal Achievement Award,2022 for outstanding contribution in development consultancy and entrepreneurship.[5][6][7][8]

Personal life

Mohanlal Panda was born on 21 October 1967 in Boudh a beautiful small town in the bank of river Mahanadi, District Boudh, in the state of Odisha, India. He is immensely influenced by his Grandfather’s courage and entrepreneurship and motivation of his parents’ to follow the dream.[5][9] He is married to Prof. Archana Kaushik on 11 March 2000.[10]

Initial Years

Lived in Boudh till he completed matriculation from Jogindra Dev High school 1983. Completed Intermediate Science, 1985 and Bachelor of Arts (Political Science and Psychology), 1987 from Gangadhar Meher College, now an Autonomous University, Sambalpur, Odisha.[11] After completing Post graduation from Sambalpur University, Burla, in Political Science. He was awarded the Degree of Doctorate of Philosophy from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi in 1999.[12]

Academic, Research and Advocacy work

He worked on various projects of democratic governance, human rights and skill development while working with PHD Rural Development Foundation and Friedrich Naumann Stiftung, South Asia Office, till end of 2008. As a paid and non paid Consultant he worked with many NGOs but remained connected with People's Vigilance Committee on Human Rights (PVCHR).His continuous works for better worlds as such:

  • Dr Mohanlal Panda evaluated the United Nations Democracy Fund project implemented in Bhutan[4]
