Seyyed Mohammad Mehdi Tabatabaei Qom is a cleric, memorizer, reciter, calligrapher, author, researcher, ideator in the field of Quran and Hadith sciences.[1][2] He is the founder of Jamat al-Qur'an.[3]

Early life and education

His father, Seyyed Ali Tabatabai, instilled in him a special and profound interest in the recitation and meanings of Quranic verses, shaping Muhammad Mahdi's daily habits.[4]

Upon entering primary school, Muhammad Mahdi's Quranic recitations, evaluated by Egyptian professors among peers, parents, and educators, officially commenced under the title of Quran reader or Qari. His acquaintance with Mr. Saeedi, knowledgeable about various Quran recitations from Egypt, propelled him into a more serious and professional sphere of Quranic recitation.[5]

Personal life

Completing high school and entering Qom's seminary in 1361, he memorized the Holy Quran entirely. His high rankings in Iran's national competitions and participation in global competitions in Saudi Arabia and Syria, coupled with his commendable character paved the way for his teaching tenure in the sacred shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH).[6]

In the field of providing new educational methods are considered his main approach in the matter of developing and promoting Quranic activities.

It is worth mentioning that his books and educational methods have a wide audience in the continents of Asia, Africa, Europe and America. which has been translated into different languages.[7]

Professor Seyyed Mohammad Mehdi Tabatabaei is mentioned in the Holy Qur'an educational gatherings as an influential, creative and possessor of thoughts and ideas in this field.[8]
