Rafiqul Amin (Bengali: রফিকুল আমীন; born 31 December 1963) is a Bangladeshi politician and businessman who currently serves as the Convener of the Bangladesh Aam Jonogon Party - BAJP [1] [2] [3] and was the Managing Director of Destiny Group.
Business career
Destiny Group
Rafiqul Amin served as the Managing Director of Destiny Group, a diversified business conglomerate active in multi-level marketing (MLM), cooperative societies, and tree plantation programs. The company also launched media ventures, including Boishakhi Television and The Daily Destiny newspaper[4][5].
Under his leadership, the group expanded its MLM network nationwide, established cooperative investment schemes targeting rural communities, and sold saplings through large-scale planting projects[6]

Investigations and charges
In July 2012, Bangladesh’s Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed fraud, money laundering, and embezzlement cases against Destiny Group executives, including Amin, related to the tree plantation and cooperative schemes[7][8]. He was arrested in October 2012[9]
Release from prison
On 15 January 2025, Dr. Rafiqul Amin was released from Keraniganj Central Jail after serving approximately 12 years, following a court order that deducted his pre-sentence incarceration from his sentence.His release marked the end of a lengthy and controversial legal battle that had drawn significant media attention in Bangladesh.

Entry into politics
Following his legal battles, Amin entered politics. On 17 April 2025, he launched the Bangladesh Aam Jonogon Party(BAJP) at a press conference in Banani, Dhaka, positioning himself as the party’s Convener. Fatima Tasnim was appointed Member Secretary, and a 297-member convening committee was established [14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21].
