Mohammad Bahareth (born October 1985) is a Saudi Arabian author,[1] writer,[2] and journalist.[3] He is the founder of Help Nation,[3] President of the Space Club, and Vice President of the Inventors Club.[1][4] Bahareth is an activist[4] and advocates for dyslexia and youth empowerment.[5]

Personal Life and Education

Bahareth grew up in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.[6] He is dyslexic and started writing at the age of 11 while studying at school.[7][8][9] He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Business and Technology, Saudi Arabia, in 2004.[10]

Career

Bahareth has been a consultant to several major corporations worldwide and in the Middle East as a subliminal advertising and social media expert.[11] In 2010, Bahareth launched his TV show entitled ITech,[12] in which he hosted several Arab celebrities.[13] In 2012, Bahareth published his adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes Trilogy into Arabic[6][11] He is the founder and head of the Saudi Space Club.[14][15][16]

He was featured on TEDxJeddah, sponsored by HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Salman's foundation, MISK, in January 2016, where he spoke about his disability, dyslexia.[7][5][12][17] Bahareth is a former columnist for CNN Arabic,[18][19] and has contributed to Elaph[20] and Sabq Newspaper.[21]

Advocacy

Bahareth has contributed to society through various initiatives, including his Arabian Space Initiative. He attempted to send the first printed Arabic text to Mars via the Mars Lander Parachute and the first tweet in Arabic from the moon through the Lunar Lion project run by the Pennsylvania State University.[7][12] He is considered the first Arab to join the Mars One Organization program.[7]

His social initiative, Allow Youth, enabled single men to visit shopping malls and restaurants on weekends.[22][23][24] He is the VP of the Inventors Club.[25][26]

Bahareth, with Ibtisam Al-Somaly, founded the Dyslexia Awareness initiative.[8][9][27][28] He also pledged to donate all his organs after death as part of the My Organs Are Life Campaign, a Saudi campaign organized by the College of Medicine at King Abdulaziz University in cooperation with the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation, to donate organs after death.[29]
