Mohammad Ali Khan Babakhel is a grade 21 officer of the Police Service of Paksitan (PSP) currently serving as Additional Inspector General in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.[1] Previously, he has served as DG NACTA[2], RPO Hazara division[3], CCPO Peshawar, Deputy Commandant (FC) Frontier Constabulary, DDG (CTW) Intelligence Bureau (IB), RPO Mardan, RPO Hazara, and as Additional CSO to the PM. Additionally, Mr. Mohamamd Ali has served in Balochistan Police, National Highways & Motorway Police NH&MP, and has remained an instructor of law and human rights at the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).


Mr. Mohammad Ali is a graduate of the National Defence Univeristy (NDU), Islamabad. He has a postgraduate diploma in Women's law from the University of Peshawar and a postgraduate diploma in international Human Rights Law from the University of Peshawar. Lastly, he holds a Masters degree in Journalism (summa cum laude) from the University of Peshawar.[4]


Mr. Mohammad Ali Babakhel remains an avid writer and publishes regular opinion pieces in Pakistan's leading newspapers.[5] He remains a visiting faculty member of Staff College Quetta, Senior Management Wing (NSPP) Lahore, National Police Academy (NPA) Islamabad, National Institiute of Management (NIM) Peshawar, and other police training colleges across the country. Mr. Babakhel is the author of two books: Swara: Women as Property (2004)[6] and Pakistan: In-between Extremism and Peace (2016).[7]
