Mohamed Al Salman is a Saudi Arabian director[1] whose film "Raven Song" was a winner of Daw competition and Saudi Arabia's entry for the List of submissions to the 95th Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film.[2][3] The film is produced by Ahmed Mousa and Telfaz11, and is a coming-of-age comedy about a young man who tries to win the love of a mysterios woman through a love poem. The film was shot in Riyadh, and stars Asem Alawad, Ibrahim Khairallah and Kateryna Tkachenko[4] Al Salman's films were a collaboration with Telfaz11, a Saudi studio that has ongoing Netflix partnership[5], and include his short film 'Curtain' (2018), which features a female nurse haunted by past trauma that affect her in her workplace.[6][7] in addition to his romantic comedy '27th of Shaban' about a couple trying to meet in a conservative Saudi Arabia in the early 2000s[8]. Both films were part of the "Six Windows in the Desert" Netflix film collection.[9][10][11][12]. His other films include the short "Tounge" (2017) and "Amongst" (2015)[13], and a common theme in his films addresses superstitions in a contemporary or modern Saudi Arabia.[14]
