Mobile marketing is a multi-channel online marketing strategy that focuses on reaching a specific audience on their smartphones, feature phones, tablets, or any other related devices through websites, e-mail, SMS and MMS, social media, or mobile applications. Mobile marketing can also be thought of as an extension of social media marketing. Customers may get time- and location-sensitive, individualised information on products, services, appointment reminders, and ideas via mobile marketing, which can be sent to them through their mobile devices. The academic Andreas Kaplan provides a definition of mobile marketing that is more on the theoretical side. He says that mobile marketing is "any marketing activity that is undertaken via a ubiquitous network to which customers are continually linked using a personal mobile device."
