Mithrau Khara is a small village of 1914 hectares in Jaisalmer Tehsil in Jaisalmer district, nicknamed ""The Golden city"" in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mithrau Khara depends on JAISALMER, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Mithrau Khara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Mithrau Khara's pin code is 345034[4], and village code is 02042900. The area of Mithrau Khara is segregated as the 1894.89 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 18.91 hectare area not available for cultivation.
