Miss Planet International also known as Miss Planet is an annual international beauty pageant run by Miss Planet based in Cambodia.[1] Miss Planet International (MPI) is a movement to continue to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and for this reason they have created a contest program that seeks out ambassadors for each country. To make changes in their society for a better future. To find the perfect woman to represent MPI's mission in conserving our beautiful planet, Champion of Miss Planet beauty.[2]
History
The "Miss Planet International" pageant was created with the common goal of promoting the saving of the planet and human life in accordance with the common principles of the United Nations. The program has a mission to inspire ideas and empower young women who aspire to be good role models for others in their communities and countries around the world, bringing about social change. That will strengthen the cultivation of love for all people and respect for the environment of the planet Earth as well. The Miss Planet International Beauty Pageant was discovered by Miss Halley Amin, a Cambodian producer and creator of the International Beauty Pageant (MPI). The first Miss International pageant was held at Koh Pich Theater on March 1, 2019 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. There are 39 member countries participating in this competition.[3] During 2020 and 2021, due to the global crisis of the Covid-19 epidemic, the MPI did not hold a pageant until 2022, when the MPI announced its intention to host the Miss Planet pageant. International Uganda, which has 68 member countries, will be ready during November 2022, but the tournament could not take place due to the fact that many member countries have announced their withdrawal, citing various reasons. Their personal safety has been linked to the Ebola virus disease outbreak, with many candidates withdrawing just days before the event, causing the entire event to collapse and cost about $10 Million US dollars and the whole program planned to be held in Uganda was immediately canceled and moved back to Cambodia during January 2023 at the Koh Pich Theater in Phnom Penh.[4]
Events
Miss Planet International Beauty Pageant, which will be held on March 1, 2019 at Koh Pich Festival, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, organized by MISS PLANET INTERNATIONAL. CO., LTD "which will plan to spend a total of about 11 million US dollars in the international beauty contest, which will start for the first time. Press Conference and Dinner Welcoming Delegates and Candidates will be held on 23 February at TK Motor Cafe and on 24 February 2019, Candidates had a White Gala Dinner at Memoire Palace in Siem Reap. They were greeted and celebrated with Khmer cultural dances as well. February 25, 2019 All pageants will travel to the most famous and largest temple, Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site visited by Most celebrities, dignitaries and tourists from around the world, they have to wear traditional Khmer clothes to help promote tourism to Cambodia with Also showing off their national costumes, they finally had to return to rehearse for the 2019 Miss Planet International pageant.[5]

The Miss Planet International pageant took place on March 1, 2019 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The party night saw 39 delegates compete for the prestigious crown, of which Monique Best of South Africa was crowned Miss Planet International 2019. From the very beginning of Miss Planet international 2019, Monique Best has been a strong and confident delegate and her victory proves that it is a worthy victory. The newly crowned MPI winner worth more than $ 100,000 is Monique Best, an international model and actress. Moreover, her victory not only brought her pride. Not only that, but she also brought honor for the whole nation.[6]
