Mirko Savoldi is an Italian race car driver who predominantly raced in Formula 3 Italy, Sportscar championship, and LMP2. He won the 1988 Formula Alfa Boxer Championship as well as placing first in the SR2 class of the FIA Sportscar Championship in both 2002 and 2003.
Racing Career
Savoldi began his career by competing in the Formula Alfa Boxer series in 1988. After a season he went on to race in Formula 3 Italy for four years before taking a ten year hiatus from racing. After the break Savoldi moved on to the FIA Sportscar Championship for two years. After two successful seasons in Sportscar, Savoldi competed in the Le Mans Endurance Series for two years. Savoldi continued to race for Lucchini Engineering by following them to the Campionato Italiano Prototipi in 2007. Finally, Savoldi ended his career racing in the Le Mans Series before retiring from racing in 2008.
