Miloš Aleksić (March 18, 1933 – July 7, 2021) was a Serbian university professor, politician, and publicist. He served as a professor and Dean at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Belgrade and was active in politics as a member of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia and later the Socialist Party of Serbia. He was a close associate of President Slobodan Milošević.
Biography
Aleksić was born in the village of Kljakovica, in the Nikšić district, on March 18, 1933. He completed elementary school in his hometown and secondary school in Dubrovnik. He graduated in economics in 1961 from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Economics and earned a PhD in political economy in 1973 from the Faculty of Economics in Osijek.
He began his academic career in 1974 as an assistant professor of "Self-management Socialism" at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Belgrade, eventually becoming a full professor in 1983. He held several administrative positions, including: Vice-Dean for Investments (1981–1984), Dean (1985–1987), President of the Faculty Council (1995–1997), and President of the Board of Directors (1998–2000). He retired in 2000.
Political career
Aleksić was a member of both the National Assembly of Serbia and the Federal Assembly of Yugoslavia from 1990 to 1992. He was a member of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia and later the Socialist Party of Serbia. He was also a member of the Russian Academy of Social Sciences. Among his works is the book Milošević – Paradigm of Freedom.
Awards
Aleksić was awarded the Order of Merit for the People with Silver Star for his contributions to education and social sciences.
