Millie Del Oro (born 2 August 1996) is an AfroLatina actress, content creator, and entrepreneur. She is the founder of Tropical Touches, a lifestyle brand known for its hand-poured coconut candles inspired by global cultures. As an actress, she has appeared in various television shows and independent films, and as a digital creator, she has collaborated with numerous household-name brands.
Early Life and Education
Del Oro was born in San Diego, California, and raised in Arkansas. She discovered her passion for storytelling early on, performing in church plays and local theater. Even in middle school, she participated in high school theater productions and began formal training as a teen in Memphis, Tennessee.
She later moved to Southern California, where she attended California State University, Long Beach, majoring in Communications and Digital Marketing. She continued to hone her acting skills at the Margie Haber Studio in Los Angeles.
Acting Career
Driven by a desire to see herself and her community represented on screen, Del Oro moved to Los Angeles to pursue a professional career in acting. Her work includes appearances in several high-profile television series such as All American, Euphoria, Never Have I Ever, Snowfall, and Truth Be Told.
She has also starred in multiple short films centering BIPOC and women-led stories, including Curandera and Missing You, the latter of which premiered at the MiraLA Film Festival in Los Angeles.
Del Oro is currently training in both live-action performance and voiceover, continuing to expand her skills and versatility as a performer.
Tropical Touches
In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Del Oro founded Tropical Touches, a lifestyle and wellness brand offering hand-poured coconut candles. Each candle is inspired by different regions and cultures, with a mission to bring an “island state of mind” into the home through sensory storytelling.
Her work with Tropical Touches has been featured in VoyageLA, El Nuevo Sol, and TimeOut Los Angeles. In TimeOut’s Women of the Year 2021 feature, Leah Guerrero, founder of Brujita Skincare, recognized Del Oro personally as a creator and entrepreneur whose energy and authenticity stood out. The El Nuevo Sol feature spotlighted her as part of its AfroLatinx Stories series, celebrating her commitment to cultural visibility and community storytelling.
Content Creation and Brand Partnerships
As a content creator, Del Oro shares content rooted in self-care, sustainable living, lifestyle, and adventure/travel, alongside behind-the-scenes looks into her acting and modeling work. Her platforms are known for blending authenticity, cultural pride, and wellness.
Previously, she was a selected creator for Meta’s Dale Tú and We The Culture initiatives - programs designed to elevate Latinx and Black creators, respectively. She is active across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, where she continues to grow her audience.
Del Oro has collaborated with several brands, including Apple, Google, Smashbox Cosmetics, Hija de tu Madre, Vive Cosmetics, and 54 Thrones. Her work spans sponsored campaigns, user-generated content, and on-camera modeling. Her collaborations often highlight inclusivity, community empowerment, and a modern take on multicultural beauty and identity.
