Mila Vie Kinney (/'Me-la' K-IH-N-ee/ born 11 November 2007)

Mila was born into a prominent Canadian family in Vancouver. Her mother was an aspiring musician and her father worked as a shoemaker in his family business. At the young age of three, Mila and her family immigrated to the United States where they lived in Jasper Alabama in a small one-bedroom apartment with a family friend. In July 2011, Mila’s brother Hudson Vivian Kinney was born. By then, Mila and her family had moved to Nashville Tennessee and her father had found himself a steady corporate job that paid the bills. Hudson seemed to be a healthy baby at first, but when he was three months old, he was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure. Hudson was in and out of the hospital for the first four years of his life until he was put on the transplant list. At just eight years old, Mila bravely and courageously offered to donate her kidney to her sick brother. Fortunately, they were a match and she was able to save his life. Although Hudson was saved, the family was thrown into immense financial debt and there seemed to be no hope. That was when Mila created a YouTube account called milas_savage_slimes that blew up in September of 2016. Mila pursued her fame and continued to make more and more videos. By 2017, the account had over 100 subscribers. On August 12th, 2017, Mila posted a video with a GoFundMe link attached, attempting to help her family climb its way out of its financial troubles. An anonymous donor sent $650,000 to the GoFundMe which was enough to pay for Hudson’s overdue medical bills as well as their outstanding rent. These few years of her life lit a spark in Mila and from that point on, she decided that she would start a cause to raise awareness for kidney health. Today, Mila inspires dozens of people across YouTube with slime videos that discuss how to maintain healthy kidneys, what the symptoms of kidney failure are, and what the treatment is like for those suffering from kidney diseases or failure. Mila's heroic actions have educated many of the problems and struggles of those experiencing kidney troubles. She is honored in the city of Nashville as the One Kidney Slime Maker Wonder and is admired by many.
