Mike Dunbar is a New Hampshire political activist who is known for founding the Draft Trump movement in 1987, an unsuccessful attempt to convince then-businessman Donald Trump to run for President.[1] Dunbar arranged for Trump to speak in New Hampshire on October 22, 1988,[1] but Trump announced he was “...not here to announce I am running for President.” After this, correspondence between Trump and Dunbar continued for some time.[2][3][4] There has been much media assertion that Dunbar gave Trump the idea to Donald Trump 2016 presidential campaign|run for President in 2016.[3][5]
