Critical Reception Critics have noted Farías's distinctive compositional style. The San Diego Union Tribune compared his music to Finnish composers Magnus Lindberg and Esa-Pekka Salonen, "but more cut up or distorted." His work "Estallido" was praised by Classical Voice for its "novel use of percussion instruments" and its representation of social unrest in Santiago. Percorsi Musicale highlighted his "tensive writing" and "harmonic variability," while Bachtrack described his piece "El color del tiempo" as having "an enigmatic philosophical tone" with "ingenious swatches" and "glowing sounds."
