Notable Projects
Gatwick Airport
London Gatwick Airport used Midstream Lighting to upgrade their airside lighting systems because many of the existing lights were not meeting EASA legislation. The airport also wanted to reduce the energy consumption of their airside lighting areas by 20% (compared to their 1990s levels). Midstream installed over 560 LED floodlights, making Gatwick the first airport to have a fully LED-lit and EASA-compliant apron.[4]
Glasgow Airport
Midstream Lighting worked on a project at Glasgow airport to replace existing sodium projector lights. 236 sodium projectors were replaced with just 164 LED floodlights[5], reducing the energy consumption of the lighting system by 61% and making Glasgow Airport the first international airport to ‘completely switch to LED for stand lighting’.[6]
Stoke City's Bet 365 Stadium
Midstream Lighting was involved in the floodlighting upgrade of the stadium in 2023. With the floodlighting upgrade, the stadium also has the ability to put on light shows – which is now a standard occurrence at every evening game[7] – it produces a stunning pre-match display that brings the bet365 to life in a whole new way.
