Early life & education
Michele Pelafas graduated with honors from the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago, Illinois. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in interior design. She is a licensed interior designer.[1]
Her design philosophy is premised on incorporating the concept of beauty and the beauty industry in design and furniture. Additionally, she believes in touching every aspect of the design process, including manufacturing. She specializes in spas, salons, women’s and wellness centers, medical spas, nail salons, fitness centers, and residential designs. She works with hundreds of clients across the United States and globally.[2]
The Michele Pelafas, Inc. brand, based in Elmhurst, Illinois, was established in 2014. The brand has a firm of specialized, beauty-industry-minded interior designers. Michele Pelafas serves as the founder and artistic director.[2] Design services are available for beauty, spa, hospitality, hair salon, medical spa, nail salon, and private residential environments.[3] The company provides space and floor plan design, lighting, 3D illustrations, color concepts, construction management, computer renderings, and fixture planning. Michele Pelafas, Inc. also designs and manufactures their furniture, including cabinetry.[4]
In 2023, Michele Pelafas, Inc. began a partnership with Ashley James of Dermastic Aesthetic Consulting to develop and design mobile MedSpa models.[5]
Michele Pelafas and her namesake brand have been featured in industry trade publications such as American Salon and Salon Today.[6][7]
