Michele Cascavilla (born April 2, 1976) is the founder and former chief executive of Lenzuolissimi, a company based in Milan that makes and sells household linen. It operates in Italy, England, the United States and Mexico.

The company had contracts with the Italian airline Alitalia and the Italian railway company Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane and provided bedding for the presidential bedrooms at the G8 conference in L'Aquila in 2009.[1][2][3][4][5]

Career

Born in Milan, Michele Cascavilla began his career in the Made in Italy supply chain, assuming management roles in the Italian multinational Frette, which has been active in textiles since 1860. In his role as the company's head of brand alliance, Cascavilla promoted the corporation image: in July 2009, he helped to organize the G8 summit in L'Aquila, at the request of then-Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, by outfitting the rooms of politicians, such as Barack Obama and Muammar Gaddafi, with customized linens. The manager, afterwards, signed the brand's first partnerships with Ferrovie dello Stato and Alitalia, equipping vehicles with the products of Frette.[6][7][2]

In 2014, Cascavilla founded Lenzuolissimi, a transnational bedding manufacturer and the world's first single-brand sheet company. By offering the market high-quality products at affordable prices, according to Ca' Foscari University of Venice studies, the entrepreneur adopted a business strategy called Blue Ocean Strategy, consisting of identifying and dominating an unexplored market area. The company opened outlets in Italy, England, the United States and Mexico, moreover pursuing the inauguration of 30 new stores through franchising.[1][4][2]

Cascavilla implemented new corporate advertising policies, including the invention of printed comforter covers depicting historical images. He designed and made a duvet cover which was donated by Berlusconi to Vladimir Putin on his 65th birthday.[8][9][10]

In 2017, with the collaboration of journalist Roberto Alessi, Michele Cascavilla wrote the autobiographical book Le Lenzuola del Potere (The Sheets Of Power) (ISBN|8894846024), whose preface was written by Berlusconi. It was reprinted due to strong sales.[11]
