Michel Germain Parfums Ltd. is a Canadian fragrance company that designs, makes, and sells perfumes and colognes. The company was founded by perfumer Michel Germain, who created his first scent for his wife. The brand uses natural oils in its formulas and draws on French perfume traditions in its approach.[1]
Michel Germain Parfums is distributed internationally and is sold in department stores including Macy’s and Hudson’s Bay, as well as through online retailers.[2]
History
Michel Germain started the company after working in fragrance development. His early perfumes had warm and sensual scents. The brand's later collections have also kept these similar scent features.[3]
The company later added several fragrance lines for both men and women. By the 2000s, Michel Germain Parfums had entered major North American retail markets and travel retail channels, including duty-free shops.[4]
In 2016, Germain received a lifetime achievement award at the Canadian Fragrance Awards, recognizing his 25-year career in perfumery.[5]
In 2024, Germain's fragrance Sexual Noir Pour Homme received the People's Choice Award for Men's Popular Fragrance at the inaugural Scentbird Digital Fragrance Awards.[6]
