Michel Corriveau (born in 1962) is a Canadian music composer[1]. He has received multiple nominations and awards throughout his career for Canadian as well as international tv and movie productions [2]

Biography

Based in Montreal, Michel was raised in Grand-Mère, Québec. His grandfather, Philippe Filion, was appointed Lieutenant-Chief of Music by the Department of National Defense of Ottawa. [3] His career starts in 1986 when he joins the rock band Luba (singer) as a keyboardist and guitarist. After a bus crash while on tour where many are injured, Michel Corriveau gets hospitalized for months [4] .

Over the years, he composed the music for international advertising campaigns, and for over 50 Canadian and international movies and tv series, including the long feature Anna (2015 Canadian film) (LAIFFA 2016 winner for best score, nominated at ACCT and Quebec Cinema awards for best score), starring Anna Mouglalis, Barrymore (film) (starring Christopher Plummer), Answered by Fire (best score nominee for Gemini Awards), starring David Wenham and directed by Jessica Hobbs, Just a Breath Away, starring Olga Kurylenko and Romain Duris, and Canadian movie Bon Cop Bad Cop, nominated for best score at the Quebec Cinema awards.[5]

In 2008, he starts and obtains a masters degree from Boston's Berklee College of Music.[6]

He now works with his son, Jérémie Corriveau.[7]
