Michael Lloyd Perlis (January 13th, 1961) is an American clinical research psychologist specializing in the fields of sleep medicine and behavioral sleep medicine.[1][2][3] Dr. Perlis served as an assistant and associate professor of psychiatry at University of Rochester from 1996 to 2008. [4] In 2008 was recruited to the University of Pennsylvania (Department of Psychiatry) as a tenured associate professor of psychiatry.[4] He is also the Director of the University of Pennsylvania Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program in the department of psychiatry and has held a secondary appointment in the school of nursing since 2010.[4] He received his undergraduate degree in religious studies from Guilford College in 1983. He received both his master's and doctorate degrees in psychology from the University of Arizona in 1990 and 1994 respectively.[4] He completed his internship at Brown University (1993) and his Research Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinics at the University of Pittsburgh (1994-1996).[4]
