Michael Pavelka (born 28th March 1959) is an English theatre designer, teacher and author.[1] He is known for his work with Edward Hall for the Propeller Theatre Company, Royal Shakespeare Company and Royal National Theatre.[2][3] Since graduating from Wimbledon School of Art in 1981, he has primarily designed scenery and costumes for 'new writing' productions, Bertolt Brecht and William Shakespeare plays.[4]
Pavelka is the Director of the London Shakespeare's Globe Design programme for Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts and is a member of the Society of British Theatre Designers (SBTD).
