Michael James Sloggett was born on 26 July 1983 in Auburn, Sydney, and comes from very humble beginnings. His mother was adopted, and his father left before he was born. Sloggett was raised in the western suburbs of Sydney. He never did well in school and left halfway through year nine, spending many years running around the streets doing street things. He joined the military at a young age, and after leaving, he became bankrupt and homeless, struggling before finding his feet.
