Michael Ceraso is an American political consultant and campaign manager.
Early Life and Education
Ceraso received an associate degree in history from Citrus Community College in Glendora, California and later earned a bachelor’s in Political Science and Government from Pitzer College in Claremont, California.[1]
Career
Ceraso worked as a field director in President Obama’s 2008 in New Mexico.[1] In 2012 he served as Deputy Field Director of New Hampshire for President Obama’s reelection campaign.[2]
Ceraso served as Senator Bernie Sanders’ California state director during his 2016 Presidential Campaign. He parted ways with the campaign over strategic disputes.[3]
Ceraso founded Winning Margins, a political consulting and public relations firms, in 2017 to help under-funded candidates in underserved communities.[4] He has worked for down ballot candidates in Maryland, South Carolina, North Carolina, New York, California, New Hampshire, Florida, and Washington D.C.
Ceraso ran unsuccessfully for Claremont City Council in 2018 and 2020.[5] [6]
Ceraso served as the State Director and New Hampshire Campaign Manager for Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigeg for three months before an amicable split.[2]
In March 2020, he co-founded and is president of Community Groundwork, a 501(c)(3) organization to train and mentor community college students interested in a civic career.[7]
Ceraso has been quoted for political commentary in the Wall Street Journal, Politico, Boston Globe, Fox, New York Times, Bloomberg, and CBS.[8][9][10][11]
Personal Life
Ceraso was raised by a single mother on a scarce income.[12] Outside of his civic work, Michael served as a contributing writer at the Claremont Courier. His love for comic books is well-documented.[citation needed]
