Michael Breach, also known by his instagram handle @BaristArt[2][3], is an American[4] artist and entertainer. Widely credited as the pioneer of latte art[5], Breach manipulates latte foam to create portraits, from movie references to TV show characters to celebrities, as well as landscapes[6]. Breach has been called the “Michelangelo of milk” by ABC News[7] and the “DaVinci of coffee art” by Katie Couric[8].
Breach has over 99,000 instagram followers.[9] He and his latte art creations have also been featured on national television, including on Good Morning America[10], The Rachael Ray Show[11], Food Network[12], Access Hollywood"Meet The Barista Named 'The Da Vinci Of Coffee Art'" (video). youtube.com. Early life
Originally from Maryland[13], Breach was a creative child who demonstrated an interest in the arts from a young age, drawing comics "all the time".[14] He is a self-taught artist.[15]
Career
Breach first had the idea to take coffee art in a new direction while working as a barista at a New York City hotel.[16] Because few people ordered coffee during his late-night shift, he had time to experiment and develop his signature latte art style.[17]
In 2014, Breach left his day jobs as a barista to pursue coffee art full time.[18] Since then, he has made over 10,000 latte portraits, each of which takes three to five minutes to complete.[19] Breach creates latte art for trade shows, conferences, special events, and other private clients.[20] He has also contributed his latte art to public relation campaigns for companies such as Nestle[21], Dunkin'[22], Disney[23] and at events such as ComicCon[24] and South by Southwest[25]. Breach’s clients are located all over the world[26], and have included celebrities such as Joe Jonas and Amy Schumer[27]
Personal life
Breach lives in Los Angeles, California.[28]
