Dr. Michael Yeh (born August 8, 1972) is an American surgeon and thyroid and endocrine surgery researcher. He currently practices at the University of California Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California. He is a professor of surgery at the UCLA Division of General Surgery and professor of medicine at the UCLA Division of Endocrinology.

He is a member of the Endocrine Society.[1]

Early years and education

Dr. Michael Yeh was born on August 8, 1972, in Los Angeles, California, to Dr. William Yeh and Jennie Yeh, and has one younger brother, Dr. Robert Yeh, a cardiologist. His father is a civil engineering professor and the Richard G. Newman AECOM Distinguished Professor of Civil Engineering, a chair position that he was given in 2010.

Dr. Michael Yeh attended Stanford University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1993. He received his medical degree at Harvard Medical School in 1997. He then did an internship and residency for general surgery at University of California, San Francisco, and graduated in 2004. Dr. Michael Yeh then completed the T.S. Reeve International Fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital in 2005.

Career

Dr. Michael Yeh was recruited by UCLA to establish its endocrine surgery department in 2006. In 2016, he established the endocrine center at UCLA.[2]

He has published peer-reviewed scientific articles that primarily focus on endocrine surgery and thyroid cancer [3].

Personal Life

Dr. Michael Yeh lives in Los Angeles with his wife and family.
