Methoon is a small village of 720 hectares in Aklera Tehsil in Jhalawar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Methoon depends on Aklera, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 165.63% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Methoon is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Methoon's pin code is 326033[4], and village code is 04040300. The area of Methoon is segregated as 165.63 hectares irrigated area, 355.44 hectares unirrigated, the 110.82 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 88.04 hectare area not available for cultivation.
