From the early period of his life he was involved in street self defense discipline, which in Brazil go under the name of Capoeira. In the 90's, while he was working as a taxi driver in Salvador, Bahia, he came into contact with the work Cobra Mansa, who was at the time a recognized Mestre (Master) of Capoeira.[1] [2] [3] In 2003, after becoming a Mestre (Master) recognized by the Capoeira community, he went back to his native town, Olinda, to teach in the local Academia de Capoeira Angola Mae, and kept working there and forming some Masters. He passed away in 2022 in his house, for natural reasons.[4][5]

Following his contribution social and cultural work, he was declared Patron of Capoeira in Pernambuco from the municipality of Recife in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil.[10] [11] His work contributed to the fortune and diffusion of Capoeira, the Brazilian national martial art, in various European countries, such as Germany and Italy.[12] He contributed to form masters of capoeira who nowadays formed their own groups and are spreading his teaching around Europe, including Contramestre Lagartixa, Mestra Nazare, Mestra Di, Mestre Nino Faisca.[13]
