Merwas is a small village of 973 hectares in Jayal Tehsil in Nagaur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Merwas depends on Nagaur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Merwas is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Merwas's pin code is 341027[4], and village code is 01790500. The area of Merwas is segregated as 836.17 hectares unirrigated, the 93.62 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 43.52 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Nagaur to sell ghee and make their living.
