Merliah Dayanne Rodríguez (born November 14, 2014) is an American student of a Montgomery County school.
Early life
Dayanne Rodríguez was born on November 14, 2014 in Rockville, Maryland. She weighed 6.7 pounds at the time. After a month, she was not gaining weight. An Immunoreactive Trypsinogen (IRT) test was performed to screen for cystic fibrosis. She was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis by the Pulmonary Clinic at Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Dayanne Rodríguez currently attends a Montgomery County school.
Life with cystic fibrosis
Due to her CF condition, Dayanne Rodríguez undergoes multiple treatments. These include respiratory therapy once in the morning then before sleep, as well as high-frequency chest wall oscillation that involves an inflatable vest attached to a machine that mechanically performs Chest Physical Therapy (Chest PT). She enjoys reading a book during this process.
Her parents work together to deal with her bad appetite and ensure her treatments are successfully applied every day. Dayanne Rodríguez is growing as a normal child. She is aware of her condition and the reason for her treatments.
Personal life
Dayanne Rodríguez lives with her parents Dawin Rodríguez and Inés Figueroa in Maryland. She loves to sing, and spends most of her free time watching YouTube and playing Roblox online. She speaks English and Spanish.
