Meriya is a small village of 1557 hectares in Shergarh Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Meriya depends on Jodhpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Meriya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Meriya's pin code is 342306[4], and village code is 01981600. The area of Meriya is segregated as 7 hectares irrigated area, 797 hectares unirrigated, the 73 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 680 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jodhpur to sell sweets and make their living.
