Merhi is a small village of 160.7 hectares in Nizamabad Tehsil in Azamgarh district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Merhi depends on tikapur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Merhi's pin code is 276206[4], and village code is 08725100. The area of Merhi is segregated as 101.724 hectares irrigated area, 1.5 hectares unirrigated area. the 2 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 2.25 hectare area not available for cultivation.
