Mencurem is a small village of 467 hectares in Bicholim Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mencurem depends on BICHOLIM, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 20.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Mencurem is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Mencurem's pin code is 403513[5], and village code is 00008600. The area of Mencurem is segregated as 33.04 hectares irrigated area, 176.47 hectares unirrigated, the 58 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 199.96 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Mencurem has One post office (Menkurim B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Mencurem has One bank and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with One recreational center.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Mencurem is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 1381 and has total administration over 306 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BICHOLIM and North Goa to sell banana and make their living.
