Melody Sierra Dawson (born August 17, 1996), known professionally as Melody Storm, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and television host. She has notably contributed to the evolution of contemporary R&B, hip-hop, and dancehall, exploring themes such as relationships, love, and mental health through her music, often drawing from personal experiences.[1]

Early life and education

Melody Sierra Dawson, aka Melody Storm, was born and raised in New York in a Jamaican immigrant family. She began singing at age 2, and performed at talent shows throughout her primary and high school years. During her teenage years, Melody's exposure to classical Broadway shows fueled her interest in acting. She pursued her studies at Clark Atlanta University, where she studied theatre arts and communication.

Career

In 2017, Melody Storm encountered her manager Vlad, who has been instrumental in her professional development as a recording artist. She gained widespread recognition in 2020 with the release of two music videos, "Unplugged"[3] and "Grey Sweats." Following a personal loss in 2021, Storm released the single "Anxiety," advocating for mental health awareness. Her recent chart-topping releases include "Life is Good," "Why?" and "O.L.T."[4]

She is the founder of the recording label Storm Strength Records, under which she releases all her music. Noteworthy co-signs from influential figures include Ace General, a prominent promoter, actor, and co-star of the series "Money & Violence," and Jesse Atkinson, the esteemed founder of the Underground Music Awards and The A&R Power Summit.[5]

Melody Storm has also appeared in concerts alongside hip-hop legend Jadakiss and R&B star Tink.
