Mekuba is a small village of 1361 hectares in Pokaran Tehsil in Jaisalmer district, nicknamed ""The Golden city"" in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mekuba depends on POKARAN, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Mekuba is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Mekuba's pin code is 345025[4], and village code is 02063100. The area of Mekuba is segregated as 1046.68 hectares unirrigated, the 270.28 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 44.51 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Mekuba is a census village in the district of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1153 and has total administration over 172 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

According to a census 2011 report, 446 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 290 male, 156 female with 367 (82.29%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 248 males and 119 females. 200 males and 105 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 25 male and 14 female agricultural labor. 79 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of POKARAN and Jaisalmer to sell ghee and make their living.
