Mekaran Wala is a small village of 1245 hectares in Ramsar Tehsil in Barmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mekaran Wala depends on BARMER, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Mekaran Wala is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Mekaran Wala's pin code is 344502[4], and village code is 02238800. The area of Mekaran Wala is segregated as 1082 hectares unirrigated, the 40 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 123 hectare area not available for cultivation.
