Mehnaaz Nadiadwala is a film producer, author and woman activist. She has come to notoriety after releasing the short film, "It's a Girl".

Introduction

Nadiadwala is a woman activist working for gender equality. Her service on the cause has been a benchmark through social work where her focus has mainly been on concrete results in the implementation of gender equality policies as well as a shift towards prevention of violence against women and the involvement of men and boys in the field of gender equality work. She has led processes and campaigns as a leading advocate for feminism and gender equality in India.

Social issues have been close to her heart. In 2019, she produced and released "It's A Girl", a 48 minute de jure feature and de facto short film based on female genocide and women empowerment.[1] The film is an adaptation of the novel, "It's a girl, dialogues with a princess" by Nadiawala. She also has had concerns on global warming issues.[2]

Experience and Awards

She has major experience in the area of women’s empowerment, having held various leadership positions in socio-cultural context.[2] She brings extensive experience in the area of strategic partnerships, resource mobilization and management.[3] She focused on enhancing sustainability, institutional effectiveness and impact through strategic partnerships with experience in advocating for women’s issues with a combination of strategic leadership, consensus building and hands-on management experience. She has built and managed strong partnerships with a range of key stakeholders, including women’s movements and civil society, both at the global and in country contexts. She worked in women’s rights as a social activist and she previously served as many national and international organizations with key position to serve her core motive to support the cause of woman empowerment.[4] She is a recipient of the Mother Teresa Award, which was given to her on January 21st 2016 for her work on social service & education toward the less fortunate.[3] She also received an Excellence Award as rising film producer and presenter.[3] She holds a doctorate in strategic management with a specialization in cultural and global issues. She has been active with her Talk Show Womanistaan to address issues of atrocities and woman empowerment.[5][6]
