Mehdi Barghi (Template:Lang-fa, born 21 January 1986) is an Iranian gold medalist and champion in Sport wrestling|Free-Style wrestler and current mixed martial artist signed to ONE Championship.
Mixed martial arts career
Early career
In 2015, Mehdi decided to start his career as an MMA fighter. He participated in the 2017 World MMA Championship took place in Kemer, Turkey as Amature (Weight cat. 95 kg) and placed second.[2]
ONE Championship
In August 2020 news broke that Mehdi Barghi signed with the ONE Championship.[3] He was scheduled to make his second promotional debut against Reug Reug at 2020_in_ONE_Championship#ONE_Championship:_Big_Bang|ONE Championship: Big Bang on April 7, 2021.[3] However, the fight canceled due to a positive COVID-19 case in Mehdi's flight. He faced Kang Ji Won at 2021_in_ONE_Championship#ONE_Championship:_Unbreakable_3|ONE Championship: Unbreakable 3] on February 7, 2021.[4] Mehdi lost to Kang by first-round knockout.[4]
