Meghasar is a small village of 988 hectares in Chohtan Tehsil in Barmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Meghasar depends on BARMER, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Meghasar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Meghasar's pin code is 344702[4], and village code is 02239600. The area of Meghasar is segregated as 648 hectares unirrigated, the 59 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 281 hectare area not available for cultivation.
