Maximo Carrizo (born February 28, 2008) is an American professional soccer player who plays for Major League Soccer club New York City FC. Carrizo is the youngest player to sign a contract in Major League Soccer, breaking the record Axel Kei set in January when he signed with Real Salt Lake at 14 years and 15 days old.[1][2] The deal runs through the 2027 season with a team option for 2028.

Club career

Carrizo joined NYCFC’s academy in 2018 from FC Westchester as a U-12 player, then was invited to the club’s first-team preseason camp in 2022. Earlier this year, he was called into a US U-15 youth national team training camp.

Carrizo is eligible to play for NYCFC II, which will compete in the newly-formed MLS NEXT Pro league.
