Maximiliaan van Kuyk is a London-born Dutch entrepreneur and technology executive. He is the founder, president, and chief executive officer of IOU Marker, a financial technology company focused on payment accountability, invoice automation, and business trust scoring.[1][2]
Education
Van Kuyk was born in London and was raised in Europe, including Budapest and Barcelona, where he attended American schools. He later studied in Australia and attended the University of Melbourne, where he received a degree in economics and history.[3]
Career
Van Kuyk has spent his career as a product leader and founder in technology, with work spanning fintech, crypto, blockchain, creator commerce, and AI-enabled business software. Earlier in his career he undertook volunteer work in Africa in 2006 and 2007 and ran a production company in Beijing during the 2008 Summer Olympics.[3]
He was a co-founder of the V initiative, a bitcoin- and blockchain-based voting effort that worked with the National Association of Voter Officials on secure, decentralized online voting.[4] He later worked in product strategy, digital growth, and startup consulting, and worked in product growth at Tinder during the launch of Tinder Plus.[3] He went on to hold product leadership roles on blockchain-based loyalty, payments, and marketplace systems at companies later consolidated as Superlogic, and was a co-founder and product leader at OTH Network, a creator-commerce and fintech platform connecting businesses with creators.[5][6]
In 2025, Van Kuyk co-founded IOU Marker. The company builds software for managing agreements, invoices, and payment follow-up. IOU Marker includes a Trust Score that rates business reliability based on professionalism, communication, and payment behavior, alongside AI-assisted follow-up that automates payment reminders and related follow-up workflows.[1][2]
