Max Mikael Seeck (born May 26, 1985) is a Finnish author, screenwriter, movie producer, movie director and a businessman. He is also the co-owner and board member of the ice hockey team Helsingin Jokerit. His books have been translated to more than 40 languages.[1][2] His novel The Witch Hunter was a New York Times bestseller upon its publication in 2020[3] and the same year The Wall Street Journal compared Seeck's writing style with Edgar Allan Poe.[4] Seeck lives with his wife and children near Helsinki, Finland.[5]

Seeck's directorial debut took place in 2023 when a feature horror film called The Knocking premiered in Finland. The film was sold to more than 70 countries[6] and it received nominations for the best picture both in Sitges Catalonian International Film Festival and Cleveland International Film Festival. Seeck co-wrote and co-directed the film with his long-time friend and associate Joonas Pajunen.[6]
