Mauricio Paul Silvotti Vilar (born March 4th, 2003) is a Uruguayan-born American ice hockey player for Boston College of the National Collegiate Athletic Association(NCAA). He is currently an Undrafted Free Agent(UFA). He is part of the 2022 draft class.
Playing Career
Silvotti competed in the 2020 and 2021 BioSteel All-American Game
In his Freshman season at Dexter Southfield he was the schools leading point and goal scorer, with 27 goals and 21 assists for 48 points in 32 games. Silvotti earned All-Rookie team and First-Team All-Star honors in The Elite New England Prep School Hockey League.
In his Junior season Silvotti recorded a career high of 37 goal and 28 assists for 65 points in 38 games, the highest goal, assists and points recorded by a Junior in High school hockey in the state of Massachusetts.
He was part of the United States National Team Development Program (USNTDP). He was part of the U.S. Under-18 Team, in which he played with players like Cutter Gauthier, Will Smith, Ryan Leonard, Gabe Perrault and Logan Cooley. In Silvotti's first year in the national program, he scored 37 points in 35 games with the under-17 team. In his first draft-eligible year, he centered the under-18 team's first line, scoring over two points per game, and was named MVP of the BioSteel All-American Game.
During his high school career Silvotti got College offers to play at collegiate level Ice Hockey. These offers includes; University of Michigan, St. Cloud, Boston University, Notre Dame, and Cornell University; between others.
During the 2019-2020 season Silvotti's verbally committed to play Hockey at Boston College, He never began his Colligative Season in which lead to rumors and speculations that his promising hockey career might of been over. Until late 2023 where Silvotti has been seen playing for the Reading Royals of the ECHL.
International Play
Silvotti represented the United States at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics and earned a silver medal and in where he recorded three goals and six assists in six games He was then selected to represent the United States at the 2021 IIHF World U18 Championships but could not play due to personal reasons.
Personal Life
Silvotti is the son of Michael Neil Vanderbilt former forward for the Argentina men's national ice hockey team, and Anna Karina Silvotti former field hockey defender for the Uruguay women's national field hockey team. Growing up, Silvotti's favorite team was the Boston Bruins and his favorite player was Bruins center Patrice Bergeron.
