Maurice Edelson (born 1963) is an American lawyer and businessman.

Early life and education

Edelson was born in Hampton, Virginia to Stuart Roy and Phyllis Fahrie Edelson, the oldest of three boys. He attended Horace Greeley High School and Vassar College, where he majored in English and was elected student body president his junior and senior years. After college, Edelson worked in marketing at Institutional Investor, and later earned an M.B.A from Harvard Business School and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.

Career

After law school, Edelson began his career as a corporate associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore. In 1997, he joined the legal department of Viacom Inc., before moving to Time Inc. in 1998. At Time, Edelson held a series of legal and business positions leading to his appointment in 2008 as EVP, Corporate Development & General Counsel. [1] In 2011, he became a member of a three-person interim management committee acting as CEO of Time. [2] In 2013, Edelson served as SVP and Deputy General Counsel at Time-Warner, [3] and in 2015 became General Counsel of the Juilliard School. In 2022, he was named EVP, Chief Legal Officer of WWE. [4]

Personal life

Edelson married Jennifer Altman in 1996. They live in New York City.
