Maureen Murray.[1] (born 1960) is a British Film Producer with a longstanding career in arts, music, and drama film making and international co-production. Murray is Company Director of Foxtrot Films Ltd[2]
Early Life and Education
Murray was educated at Villiers High School, Southall, Middlesex (formerly Southall Grammar School) 1971-1978.
In 1979, she was awarded a Diploma in European Business Studies from the University of West London.
She is a graduate of Creative Media European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs (EAVE), 2000.
Affiliations
Murray is a member and former Board Member of Women In Film & Television (UK). She is a member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, BAFTA and a Producer Member of The Production Guild of Great Britain. Murray is a member of The British Film Institute.
Mentorships
Murray has acted as an Industry Mentor for Women in Film & Television UK, The Production Guild Diversity and Inclusion Group, and The Grierson Trust DocLab.
Literary Collaborations
Murray is Curator of the Sir William Walton Archive at Giardini La Mortella[3], Ischia, Italy.
Alongside, Sir Humphrey Burton CBE, Murray co-wrote the pictorial biography William Walton – The Romantic Loner [4] to mark Walton’s centenary (published by OUP, 2002). Murray also acted as research consultant to The Selected Letters of Sir William Walton [5] edited by Malcolm Hayes (published by Faber & Faber, 2002).
Murray advised author Clifford Thurlow on content for his book Making Short Films: The Complete Guide From Script To Screen [6] (published by Berg, 2005). Murray also Executive Produced Thurlow’s short drama film Greta Mayand Line Produced Clive Brill’s short drama film Room Eleven written by Eoin O’Callaghan. Both shorts feature in Thurlow’s book.
