Mau is a small village of 193 hectares in Railmagra Tehsil in Rajsamand district, known for Rajsamand Lake, an artificial lake created in the 17th century by Rana Raj Singh in the state of , India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mau depends on RAJSAMAND, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 98.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Mau is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Mau's pin code is 313328[4], and village code is 03028800. The area of Mau is segregated as 98 hectares irrigated area, 37 hectares unirrigated, the 50 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 8 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Rajsamand to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
